Dear friends of the seminary,
Mater Dei Seminary recently hosted its annual priests’ meeting, with 23 priests attending from various missions and chapels around the country. This important gathering provided an opportunity for our clergy to review essential topics in dogmatic and moral theology, Canon Law, and liturgy. Above all, these meetings reinforced the unity and brotherly spirit among our priests, strengthening their resolve to serve Christ faithfully and zealously in their sacred ministry. Truly, it was a living fulfillment of the Psalmist’s words: “Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 132)
Looking ahead, the next several weeks promise to be especially active and fruitful, as some of our priests and seminarians prepare to assist with Catholic summer camps across the country. These include the St. Joseph’s Boys Camp in Idaho and the Miles Christi Boys Camp in Wisconsin. Additionally, the CMD Sisters are currently hosting their girls’ camp, with over 130 girls in attendance. Our priests provide the Mass and Sacraments everyday for them along with a spiritual talk at Mass.
These camps are a valuable opportunity for young Catholics to deepen their faith, develop lifelong friendships, and grow spiritually through daily Mass, prayers, and wholesome activities. We ask for your prayers that God may abundantly bless the spiritual and temporal efforts of all involved.
May Our Lady continue to guide and protect our clergy and seminarians as they labor zealously for the salvation of souls. God bless you all!
